VR Counselor Experiences with Pre-Employment Transition Services: Lessons from the Field

What are the challenges state VR counselors encounter in implementing pre-employment transition services (Pre-ETS) to students with disabilities and how are they addressing them? This question will be the focus of this webinar, which will present the findings and recommendations from a national study of VR counselor perceptions WIOA and Pre-ETS. The presenters have extensive experience in developing, implementing and evaluating pre-employment transition services in collaboration with state VR agencies. As a result of attending this webinar, participants will be able to: 1) Identify the challenges VR counselors have faced in implementing Pre-ETs across geographic regions in the country; 2) Describe strategies to address implementation challenges, including creative approaches for VR counselor outreach and collaboration with local school districts; and 3) Acquire information and resources regarding Pre-ETS implementation issues, with particular attention to work-based learning experiences.
